MTV:n musiikkivideogaalan palkinto parhaasta naisesiintyjän videosta meni 19-vuotiaalle kantrilaulaja Taylor Swiftille, joka päihitti sarjassaan Lady GaGan, Katy Perryn ja Beyoncen (MITÄ VITTUA).

Swiftin voitto ei ollut Kanye Westin mielestä oikeutettu ja jostain kumman syystä hän halusi mielipiteensä kaikkien tietoon.

Mies nousi kutsumatta lavalle kesken Swiftin kiitospuheen ja riisti hämmentyneeltä tähdeltä mikrofonin.

- Jou, Taylor, olen tosi onnellinen puolestasi, ja annan sinun kohta päättää puheesi, mutta Beyoncen video oli kyllä yksi kaikkien aikojen parhaista(asiaa?), West huusi mikkiin.
