Michael Jackson - Man in the Mirror

Nostaessaan kättä ilmaan tavaramerkiksi tulleen pyörähdyksen jälkeen Michael itki ja sanoi "I feel so alive - can you feel it?"

Valokuvaaja Kevin Mazur kertoo Michaelin sanoneen hänelle "This is where I belong. Why oh why have I left it so long?"

Vielä viime viikolla Michael oli täynnä intoa ja näytti siltä, että Popin Kuningas rakasti jokaista minuuttia tanssiessaan musiikin tahdissa.

Osoittaessaan valorakennelmia yläpuolellaan Staple Center-areenalla hän virnisti ja kuin voitonriemuissaan julisti “This is where I belong.”

Kaiken keskellä Michael kuitenkin piti taukoa jutellakseen vanhan ystävänsä, Kevin Mazurin kanssa - joka tietämättään vangitsi Michaelin viimeiset hetket.

Mazur kertoo Michaelin loikanneen lavalle harmaassa puvussaan huutaen “Come on – let’s make this happen!” ja sen jälkeen esitti yhden kuuluisista pyörähdyksistään kuuluttaen “This is where I belong.”
Kevinille Michael uhkusi “Can you feel it Kevin? Why oh why have I left it so long?”

Tyrmäävän Smooth Criminal-esityksen jälkeen Michael totesi “I am so excited. We need a bit more work on a few more songs but we’re so nearly there. This is what it’s all about. Me being on stage.”

“The only thing missing is my fans, my people, my family – and they will come. I know they will. I am so happy with how things are going. Can you feel it! Can you feel it!”

Kevin katsoi haltioituneena kun Michael esitti koko 1,5 tuntia kestävän shownsa. Hän esitti 12 kappaletta pysähtyen välillä ainoastaan pyyhkimään otsaansa valkoisella pyyhkeellä, jonka paikka oli lavan sivussa.

Yhdessä välissä Michael puhalsi lentosuukon areenalle ilmoittaen “This is me. The true me. I feel so alive. I feel as though I want to perform forever.”

Kappaleiden välissä Michael nauroi ja pilaili tanssijoiden ja ohjaajan kanssa. Kevin sanoo ettei koskaan ole nähnyt Michaelia niin iloisena, mutta Michael säilytti silti ammattimaisuutensa. Hän oli siellä tekemässä työtään ja sen hän teki kyllä hyvin. Kevin kuvailee tunnetta uskomattomaksi.

Kevin myöskin kertoo shown kohokohtien olleen Jackson Five Medley, Black Or White ja Thriller. Michael ja Kenny Ortega keskustelivat Smooth Criminalista ja Michael rakasti savuefektejä, jotka kuuluivat esitykseen.

Kevinin mukaan kokemus oli erittäin silmiä avaava. Michael ja Kenny suunnittelivat jopa käyttävänsä tietynlaista nostolavaa, jotta he olisivat voineet valita yhden ihmisen yleisön joukosta. Se oli erittäin spesiaalia.

Kaikista eniten Michael nautti päästessään laulamaan vanhan hittinsä, Thrillerin.
