Oh the beautiful ships
how they sail the marble-blue sea.
Oh the beautiful ships
how they look so effortless,
just sailing thru the storms.
I can do no more than just sit and admire.
Oh and suddenly
I can't see where I am.
Oh the fog is stuck in my eyes.
I'm blindfolded!
How beautiful this is...
I can't see, no, but I'm more than happy.
Oh where did they dissapear!
Those beautiful ships.
Oh I can't see 'em anywhere,
and the sea is calm again...
Waiting for another fool to come
and to try his luck.
Oh now I can see again.
But the ships are still not here,
Oh I bet they sailed behind the horizon
to the sunset.
When the sun goes down I scribble all the things
in my head down to my notebook and throw
it in to the sea and wait 'til it's swallowed.
And as the ink starts to run
from the fragile pages to the sea
and as the wind blows the pages
like the rag of a ship,
I feel like free and light.
I sit down on the sand and watch the sight.
