You decide to start it
It hurts, of course
You decide not to do that again
But somehow when you're having hard time
you find the knife and cut again
It doesn't hurt so much anymore
and the pain inside feels easier to cope.
But it isn't that easy
The next time you take the knife in your hand
you must cut deeper to forget the pain inside
Everytime the cuts get deeper and deeper
and harder to hide from curious eyes
At some point, someone finds out
You try to explain the cuts
"A cat did it."
"I don't know where that came from."
"I didn't mean to."
They will send you away
"For you to get help" they say.
But you know
they just want to get rid of the problems
And that's what you've become, a problem
You will be left alone
Then you write a letter to those who rejected you
and sent you away
Then you cut yourself one last time
and you won't be missed by anyone
