[Ei aihetta]Perjantai 17.08.2007 22:50

Its been an interesting week I have to say.
This Starbucks has been pretty much my home the whole week,
and I have been sitting in the same spot every day with my work stuff.

Quite a few people (regulars like myself) come to say hello, doctors(always wearing the hospital clothes), studenst and all kinds of people who get their coffeine fix every day.

One of the funniest is a guy who looks like Sean Connery and talks like him too, if I didnt know that he actually imitates him for living in Vegas, I would actually think its him hah. He gave me his business card - just like if it was the most normal thing in the world to invite this old guy over to your parties?

The other person is a married man, an SAP manager and has a prostane cancer (all the thinks people reveal to a stranged - or do I look like a person you can talk to about anything?) who was fascinated by the fact that im this young and travelling all over the world by myself.

all the people working here at Starbucks are really cool young people and they always joke around that I camp on the back yard.

Its interesting, how soon I know I would make more friends here I would live a normal, routine life just like everyone else.

Going to FINLAND in 2 daysPerjantai 17.08.2007 18:41

Its been so nice being home this week that I almost forgot that Im flying to Finland on Sunday.
I have noticed (during these 8 months, from which I have spent every single saturday and sunday and most of the fridays too if i just got home on time) by my pool, that there are a handful of dudes every single time that have to take the time to come to me where I always lay down, and say something really stupid, the most used frase being - wau what a tan, do u come here often? No. I was just born this way.

Today I just had enough because I dont only get really annoyed by it (like it gets the dude anywhere anyway) but because its so rude. A woman is sweaty, looking like Shit and in her bikinis - the last thing you want is to be bothered.

So when the tenth duded of the day came to me, I told him that "Tell me something new that I dont hear ten times a day or piss off. And he took off. I just had enough and those dudes think that you would start a nice chat with them. Little they know me.

Eric was one of those to, hah. He started the conversation "You propably get this all the time but could you give me your phone number" where I said, yeah I get it ten times a day, not interested. He said afterwards that im so cold and rude and I told him that well GEE I wonder why, bacause all the assholes try to hit on me by the pool.

OK, that was the lesson of today. Never, hit a woman when she is at her most vulnerable by the pool.

Stupid grass hoppersKeskiviikko 15.08.2007 18:35

I woke up 4am this morning and on my way to the bath room found the 3rd grass hopper on the floor this week. How on earth can I have them in my apartment if I NEVER leave my front door open and there shouldnt be any other way they can get in?

No wonder I thought that Im going crazy 2 nights ago - I was convinced that I heard a grass hopper making the sound they do but couldnt find it anywhere even though the voice was somewhere close to my bed and I was going crazy!

So it was a grass hopper and I flushed it this morning.

This summers absolutely HIT drinkKeskiviikko 15.08.2007 08:06

Starbucks Iced Caramel Machio coffee. Im hooked and come back for it every night:)

Chat chat by the poolKeskiviikko 15.08.2007 07:52

My friend Beverly told me funny stories by the pool today how weird things (stupid people) people try to transfer through security as if it was normal to take a huge coconut, dried cows head or bread knifes to the plane.

I saw a program the other night about the serious security issues Phoenix Sky Harbour has - a bunch of FBI agents had disguised as normal travellers and managed to carry all kinds of stuff to the plane passing the screening.

Made me think that maybe I dont wanna know all the cases they find and dont find - in my case the chance that something weird would be on my flight is pretty high as I fly twice a week.

Anyway, it was a nice day, my visa went broken though and had to ask them to overnight me a new one- i was so pissed as it still works fine as I use it at the stores but it wont work if I try to withdraw money. Stupid thing.

Days Of ThunderTiistai 14.08.2007 18:35

My godness what a night. I woke up 2am and for a minute I thought that the world warIII had just started. The thundering was so loud and hard that I was forced just to listen to the restless skies and was so scared.

I dont know why I am so scared of the thundering - maybe because I think that it might just hits my roof and tears down all the walls. It sure sounded scary so I knew that it would be a long night since I cant sleep if its stormy.

Now, 5.30 its all calm and cool too after the rain and Im working, tired though but happy that its over.

Life is Good.Tiistai 14.08.2007 07:20

I must be the happiest as I have been for a while.
It makes wonders to be able to live normal life just like everyone else. Im enjoying it so much to hang out here, see my friends and do normal stuff.

I have to suggest to my new boss that we could make it a habbit for me to spend at least a week every month working from home.

I finished Robbie Williams - my life, book for the second time and love it.
Still have a lot catching up to do with Harry though but its almost impossible to concentrate on any books at the pool.

I have a new summer pleasure- Cajun pepper crab dip and water bisquits. As its hot as hell, I dont have much appetite and was fed up with soups (love homemade chili, carrot-ginger and cream of potato) and am also done with salads so I needed something else.

So, knowing that I dont like crabs that much, I bought it and absolutely love it. Its nice and spicy but doesnt taste that much fishy. Iced coffees with lots of ice are another favourite.
Funny how a climate can affect so much to your appetite.

Those who havent checked Timlands "The way you are" go and check it out NOW and say what u think. Its my favourite right now.

The summer is definitely on here and feels like its July and Im on vacation hahaa!

I love homeTiistai 14.08.2007 00:03

Its so wonderful to be home. I left the house 4.30 am this morning and headed to Starbucks to get some work done. What a funny feeling it was to drive a couple of blocks knowing that I can drive home in 5 minutes after "work" hah.

Its been 8 moonths since I moved here - the US post sent me a letter that I have to confirm my new address if Im staying there permanently - and I think I am, at least for now.

Huh its hot weekend again, I can hardly lay down by the pool without getting a heart attack every 20min and its almost impossible to try to do anything, even read a book as you really have to concentrate on just being conscious. I knew it would be a hot summer but some days are just too much.

Oh well, its nice to take it easy, chill and to know that I DONT have to fly anywhere tomorrow. But there is a lot to do and Im not on vacation, the house has to be left on its own again for a month, and get ready when mom arrives Sep 14th.

Its been a family communication weekend..I was happy to hear that Hannu moved in with Kristel finally and is facing a new challange in his company when accepting a new position as a trainer. Someone else from my past also called from Finland this weekend with very surprising news and I couldnt believe it. I suppose this life is full of surprises after all.
