So first of all, can you introduce your band to the fans?
Late: We were formed like.. 2004. Aaand.. I joined two or three years ago?
Ano: Three years ago. *laugh*
Late: And Aapo joined like two and half years ago..
Aapo: We are an ordinary rock band. *laugh* Very infective.
So how did the band started?
Aapo: We are all childhood friends. In the village we are coming from, you know, thereÂ’s nothing else to do, just driving motorcycles or playing heavy music. *everybody laughing* ThatÂ’s why we are playing rockÂ’nÂ’roll.
And who was playing in the band before Aapo and Late and Ano?
Ano: Before Aapo uhm.. Teemu.
Juha: Reiganzo (?)
Ano: And before me there was Masi playing drums. But he was too busy.
OK. I heard, that there was Juke playing guitar in the band..
Ano: Yea, he was our first guitar player.
Juha: But Lovex is Lovex..xxxxxssssssssss..
How did you come to your band‘s name?
Late: If I would remember.
*some noises*
Late: *talking in Finnish* Sepi, how did we come to our bandÂ’s name?
Sepi: *shrugging shoulders*
Aapo: We were just playing with names.
Ano: Just tales about people.
And how did you come to the idea using stage names?
Ano: Actually I donÂ’t have any. Sepi is just Sepi and Aapo is Adam..
Juha: And IÂ’m only Juha.
Late: That was before I came.
And how did you come to it?
Late: I donÂ’t know. *laugh*
So what kind of music do you listen to? Do you have any idols in music?
Juha: Yeah, Ari Koivunen!
IÂ’ve read the interview.. *laugh*
Late: Mötley Crüe.
Aapo: Mötley Crüe. And ? and Renoise and Flinch.
Omg, Flinch. *laugh*
Aapo: Yeah, Flinch. Without Flinch we would never’ve been playing rock’n’roll. You know, Mötley Crüe and Flinch are the best rock bands. They are really our idols!
*everybody laughing*
Are you still working? What are your jobs?
Aapo: We donÂ’t have any jobs.
Ano: I do have. IÂ’m selling TVs and computers,.. *others laughing*
Aapo: And Sepi is fighting in Iraque. Beating gypsies. *everybody laughing*
And the others are not working?
Juha, Aapo: No.
Nice life!
Juha: Yeah! Do you have any money?
Not at all..
Juha: Get out!
..Just enough money to get to the airport..
Juha: ThatÂ’s only bus.
*everybody laughing out loud*
Late: Mitä vittua?
OK.. What are your impressions from TREvolution? Any special stories youÂ’d like to share?
Late: Uhm, we have a lot of stories from there actually, but I think we canÂ’t share those.. *everybody laughing*
Aapo: Every publicity is not a good publicity. There are overall rumors.
ThatÂ’s true. And what was the best gig on TREvolution?
Juha: I think itÂ’s Praha.
Everybody: Yeah.
Wow, now he remembers, that you were playing in Prague..
*laugh*
Did TREvolution change somehow your career?
Aapo: On every gig or in every band we got closer to each other because we were spending a lot of time together.
Is there something youÂ’ve learnt about Czech republic? Something interesting?
Aapo: Better horse (whores ?).
Late: Yeah. [Horse].
*boys joking in Finnish*everybody laughing*
Anything else?
Late: No. *everybody laughing*
What made you want to become musicians?
Late: We didnÂ’t have anything else to do. *everybody laughing*
Ok..
Aapo: No, really, thereÂ’s nothing else to do in that type of village where we are from.
Have you ever had a moment in your career when youÂ’ve been thinking about quiting the band?
Aapo: Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaah. Every minute.
Late: *imitating Aapo*laughs* Yeaaah!
Aapo: Actually after every rehersalÂ…
Late: But we are very good friends.
Aapo: ThatÂ’s why things in this band work quiet well. It keeps us going.
Why do you write lyrics in English?
Juha: We donÂ’t know.
Aapo: Because Juha has very good pronounciation.
Juha: I canÂ’t really speak Finnish, you know.
Aha..
Aapo: And English is the language of rockÂ’nÂ’roll.
Then you should sometimes correct the lyrics. That it would be really English, actually.
Aapo: There are not mistakes, there are visions.
Ahaaa.. DidnÂ’t find any.
Anyway, who writes the lyrics and composes the music?
Aapo: Me and Lauri.
Only?
Juha: Jep only. And Sepi, sometimes.
And whole band.
Juha: Yea.
Can you compare finnish, german and czech audience?
Aapo: In Czech and some places in Germany it was nice, because the audience sang along with the band. They knew the lyrics.
Late: And maybe more fanatic.
And do you have any dream place, where youÂ’d like to play?
Aapo: Klubi.
*some names I didnÂ’t get*
Juha: And Mouhijärvi, Otamus.
YouÂ’ve already played there, didnÂ’t you?
Ano: Or Tavastia.
Late: Tavastia is baaaad.
*laugh*
IÂ’ve heard that youÂ’ve been in a studio some time ago.. Is something coming out of that?
Juha: No.
*laugh*
Ano: Actually we donÂ’t know yet.
Aha.. Can we expect an album?
Aapo: Yea, next year.
Late: Next year.
And is there gonna be any single soon?
Aapo, Late: Next year.
And video next year?
Aapo: And next year we’re gonna say „next year“. *everybody laughing*
Ok. WhatÂ’s your favourite T.A.P song?
Aapo: I have to say Seventeen.
Everybody: Yeah.
Juha: IÂ’d say Sweet Illusion.
Ano: Or Paradise.
Everybody: Yea.
Yea, that reminds me.. Why did you change the lyrics?
Late: Because our producer..
Aapo: Our producer..
Late: ..died. Our producer died so we changed the lyrics.
Aapo: Because our producer died.
*everybody laughing*
What did you do to him? *scared*
Aapo: He drank himself to grave.
*laugh*
Ano: Actually you can hear the new version, if you want.
Yea, would be great.
*listening to music, while boys talk*
Well, now I donÂ’t know, which version I like more.. As this was the first time IÂ’ve actually heard the lyrics.
Ano: Yeah. ItÂ’s almost finnished just needs to be mastered and so.
Great. Do you have any idea, which songs are gonna appear on the album?
Ano: No.
Juha: No.
Late: I think.. No! *laugh*
Ano: We are making new song all the time, so.
But you have also lot of old songs, which you donÂ’t play nowadays at all..
Ano: Yea, some of them might be on the album.
Like Goodbye?
Ano: Actually we are doing a new version of this one.
Wow! ThatÂ’s great.
Ok, so thanks for the interview. It was really fun with you guys. ;-)
